What Is The Platform of Your Judgment? Part Four - To Decipher Issues The Word Is The Key

Continued from the last episode:

The Word also ‘is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.’ Interestingly, the twoedged sword can never do this, it has no ability in this regard and that is where the Word takes preeminence over it and therefore, there is no point juxtaposing the Word with twoedged sword. Now is important to note that if the Word has the ability to discern what the thought and the intent of the heart is, it means He is qualified enough to handle issues in life. No wonder the Word has inscrutable mastery in solving issues when employed! No one can fathom how the Word does it but by faith and believe in the Word, one sees results.

The writer of the book of Hebrews didn’t end the description of the Word in verse 12 but he went ahead in verse 13 to nail it further and it reads “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” It is interesting for us to unfold or point out things from this verse that is very vital to mention. Notice that he did use the statement “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight” This statement personifies the Word and makes the Word a being and actually it wasn’t a mistake on the side of the writer but a concrete revelation of who the Word is. The Word is a He and this He is Jesus Christ in whom the believer builds his or her platform.

Now, consider what the next line has to say about the Word and it says “But all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” This is an indication that the Word knows it all, there is nothing hidden before the Word and as a result the Word has the solution to every situation that might crop up in the life of any creature since He knows their beginning and as well as their ending. This person ‘whom we have to do’ is perfect because nothing can escape His eyes. So when we base our judgment on Him, it is certain we are going to obtain satisfaction in decision making.

The believer’s work in this context is to come boldly to the throne of the Word and the result of coming boldly is obtaining the mercy and grace. The boldness here is nothing but the act of faith that is required on the side of the believer. It is important to state here that the efficacy or the veracious nature of the Word is not depended on the receiver of the Word; the Word in itself is self-anointed irrespective of the gesture of the receiver. Therefore, the determinant of the potency of the Word is the Word itself because nothing can verify the Word except the Word “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 2:13).

The failure of the receiver in handling the Word properly and faithfully cannot undermine the veracity of the Word; this is because the Word never fails “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11). In this quotation above God is not bragging but stating the obvious.

David in the psalms bore witness to this very fact and he actually declared in one of his Psalms that “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.” (Psalms 119:160). And Jesus in the gospel stated it this way “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17). The word truth in the quotations above means certainty or actuality and in other words it is guaranteed or failsafe. On this note, the mindset of every Word receiver should be that ‘the Word never fails’ and that it is true to the last letter. When this is ascertained, it builds up faith in the heart of the receiver and such creates the needed boldness and temerity to face any situation without wavering.
